Ein Teil des Wettbewerbes sind internationalen Masterklassen, welche für Teilnehmer aus der ganzen Welt zugänglich sind und haben Interesse aus folgenden Ländern geweckt: Deutschland, Bosnien, Kroatien, China, Neuseeland und Australien. Der Teilnahmeanmeldeschluss ist 15. April 2007.
Das Festival wird durch den gegenwärtigen Coupe Mondiale Pianoakkordeonweltmeister Vladimir Anikin aus Russland gekennzeichnet. Er gibt ein Galakonzert und Masterklasse.
Das Galakonzert isb ein sehr beliebter Teil des Festivals. Die Gastkünstler sind einige der besten australischen und internationalen Solokünstler, Ensembles und Orchester. Die Gastartisten sind unter anderem: John MacDonald, Grayson Masefield (NZ), Vladimir Anikin (Russland), Australian Concert Ensemble, ASA Orchestra, Sydney Balalaika Orchestra, Ann-Elise Koerntjes, Marjan Krajna (Kroatien), und die Gewinner der verschiedenen Wettbewerbsklassen.
Die AATA bietet Akkordeonmasterklassen welche von prominenten europäischen und australischen Lehrern geleitet werden: Vladimir Ankin (Russland), Marjan Krajna (Kroatien), Alma Flammersberger (Deutschland/Bosnien), und Tania Lukic-Marx (Australien).
11. Internationaler Beijing Akkordeonwettbewerb – China
Der 11. Internationale Beijing Akkordeonwettbewerb mit einer Serie von Masterklassen werden vom 20. bis zum 25. August 2007 stattfinden.
Dieses Jahr gibt es einige bedeutungsvolle Änderungen und der Wettbewerb hat folgendes Programm:
- Events und Konzerte auf höchstem Niveau
- Das „concerto“ mit dem Komponisten des Stückes Viatcheslav Semionov
- Ausgezeichnetes Preisgeld um internationalen Artisten zur Zeilnahme zu ermutigen
- Masterklassen von Jacques Mornet (Frankreich) und Viatcheslav Semionov (Russland) werden vom 14. bis zum 18. August stattfinden
- Internationale Richter und Professoren um faire Ergebnisse zu versichern

Klaus Paier’s neues Buch und CD, Wien - Österreich
Der österreichische Akkordeonist Klaus Paier hat ein neues Buch “Jazz Akkordeon” und eine Solo CD mit dem Titel “Vibrations” herausgebracht. Die CD beinhaltet 12 Stücke mit Kompositionen und Arrangements des Künstlers.
Klaus Paier hat Akkordeon, Jazz und Komposition am Klagenfurter Konservatorium in Kärnten studiert und experimentiert seit Anfang der 90-er Jahre seinen eigenen Jazzstil. In den kommenden Monaten wird Klaus in Deutschland, Österreich, Serbien, Dänemark, Schweden, Spanien, Israel, Portugal, Polen und Rumänien auf Tour sein.
Gianluca Campis neue CD „Niccoló Paganini – Trascrizioni“ präsentiert Transkriptionen für Akkordeonmusik, welche von Paganini für Violine geschrieben wurden. Die CD beinhaltet „Capricci“ Nr. 5, 13, 15, 19, 20, 21, 22, op.1 und Konzertnummern 1, 2, 3, 4 und 5 und „Opera Postuma“.
Die Seminare von Frédéric Deschamps wurden auf Grund vieler Teilnehmer von 2 auf 4 Wochen verlängert. Die Seminare begannen am 01. April und enden am 31. April.
Schüler kommen sowohl aus ganz Frankreich und der ganzen Welt: Neuseeland, China, USA, Schweden.
Die Seminare sind für Akkordeonisten aller Länder, jeden Alters, jedes Stils und Niveaus und jeden Akkordeontypen. Frédéric Deschamps hat Erfahrung mit allen von ihnen. Die gewaltige Anzahl an so vielen jungen Talenten motiviert enorm alle teilnehmenden Schüler.
Alle wollen spielen wie die „Großen“. Einige von den „Großen“ sind nur 15 Jahre alt – also man kann sich vorstellen wie alt die „Kleinen“ sind! Einige der bereits erfahreneren Teilnehmer sind genauso angetan von der spielerischen „Deschamps Technik“, sowie allen anderen Lehrmethoden die in dem neuen Lehrbuch von Frédéric Deschamps beschrieben sind.

Gina Brannelli organised the Blackpool and Wyre International Accordion Festival 2007 which was held at the Marine Hall Fleetwood on 8th April – the last festival after 23 years of the original Easter Accordion Festivals! Some 150 competitors competed – many preparing for the NAO UK Championships in May. Picture right - Zander Bodell.
Some gave outstanding performances in the views of the adjudicators Raymond Bodell, Frederick Parnell and Ken Farran. Amongst those who gave significant performances in a number of classes are Julie Langton; who was awarded the BCA Recital Diploma, and Alexander Bodell and Santana O'Connor.
The well attended festival is now to be held in conjunction with NAO North West Area Festival which is held in November.

The French national accordion magazine ‘Accordéon et Accordéonistes’ is currently featuring the music performed by the some players who will represent France in the Variety sections at the Coupe Mondiale in Washington DC in the USA, from August 13th to 18th. These are students of Frédéric Deschamps.
First of all, La Vicieuse, a Valse by Eric Bouvelle and Didier Roussin, interpreted and arranged by Jérémy Dehier, for the Junior Variety category.
Then "Rag Musette" by Maurice Larcange and André Loppe, a rag of very technical and dynamic style by a very talented Kevin Legrand (15 years), that is also for the category Variété Junior.
With regard to the Senior Variété category, you will be able to discover the famous theme "Russian Captain" interpreted and arranged by Stéphane Belleville, as well as a mazurka, "The Magic Accordion" interpreted and arranged by Cyril Blanchard.

Concert of Macedonian Composers, Belgrade - Serbia

After a successful presentation at this year’s ‘Days of Macedonian Music’, the tandem composers Elizabeta Ilievska and Professor Zorica Karakutovska, and accordion students from the Faculty of Music in Skopje, Macedonia, had a new success abroad. On the invitation of the Student Cultural Center, Belgrade, and in co-operation with the Youth Cultural Center, Skopje, young Macedonian composers, students of the composition classes at the Faculty of Music – Skopje, held a wonderful concert on April 3rd in the ballroom of the Student Cultural Center in Belgrade. At this concert, Macedonian composer Elizabeta Ilievska presented her composition ‘Passacaglia’, written for an accordion trio, which had received its premiere performance at the ‘Days of Macedonian Music 2005’.

Accordionist Karen Street participates in ‘Glad Day’, a concert that celebrates the 250th anniversary of the English poet William Blake’s birth. Performing choral version settings of the poetry of Blake texts are Phil Minton and Kate Westbrook – voice, Mike Westbrook – piano, Karen Street – accordion, Billy Thompson – violin, and the London College of Music Chamber Choir, directed by Paul Ayres.
The concert takes place on Friday May 18th, 8pm, at The Picture Gallery, The Foundling Museum, 40 Brunswick Square, London W1N 1AZ.
On April 13th, at 8pm, the international folk dance band Orkestar Bez Ime, featuring accordionist Dee Langley, perform at Cedar Cultural Center, 416 Cedar Ave, Minneapolis, with Daddy Squeeze's Gypsy Café, as they celebrate the Rogarian mystical tradition of Leap Day and other nonsense.
OBI features songs from Macedonia, Slovakia, Albania, Romania, Israel, Bulgaria, Finland, Greece, Bulgaria, Serbia, Romany (Gypsy) and of course, Rogaria. Accordionist Dan Newton performs with Daddy Squeeze's Gypsy Café.
The folk band Tocar de Ouvido, featuring accordionists Manuel Gomes Vale and Artur Fernandes, perform at Espaço Celeiros, Évora from April 28th to May 1st.
