Der jährlich stattfindende Wettbewerb „Citta di Castelfidardo“ für Solisten und Gruppen findet vom 12. bis zum 15. Oktober statt. Die Wettbewerbe finden an folgenden Tagen und zu folgenden Zeiten statt.
Die Teilnehmer müssen zu erst zum Sekretariat und die Gebühr bezahlen.
Die Wettbewerber werden in alphabetischer Reihenfolge performen und alle Wettbewerbskategorien sind für die Öffentlichkeit zugänglich. Die Zeitpläne werden am Tag zuvor vom Sekretariat veröffentlicht.
Die Bekanntgabe und die Preisvergabe werden folgendermaßen stattfinden:-
Kategorien G, H, L: Donnerstag, 12.Oktober, 18.00Uhr (Sala B = San Francesco)
Kategorien A, N, O, P, Q: Freitag, 13.Oktober, 18.00 Uhr (Sala Convebni – Sala A)
Kategorien B, C, D: Samstag, 14.Oktober, 18.00 Uhr (Sala Convebni – Sala A)
Alle anderen Kategorien und Preise werden am Sonntag, 15.Oktober 16.00 Uhr an der Teatro Astra vergeben.
Die Performances der Gewinner der verschiedenen Kategorien werden von den Organisatoren arrangiert.
Die Gewinner, die es versäumen, an diesen Konzerten teilzunehmen, werden ihre Preise nicht erhalten.
XXII Internationales Akkordeonmusikfestival, St. Petersburg – Russland
Das 22. internationale Akkordeonmusikfestival wird in St. Petersburg vom 3. bis zum 5. November stattfinden. Der sehr bekannte russische Künstler und Tutor Professor Alexander Dmitriev ist der Organisator und Kunstdirektor des Festivals.Dieses jährlich stattfindende Event wurde ein zentraler Teil des Akkordeonlebens von St. Petersburg.
Das diesjährige Festival wird an der Glazunov Konzerthalle – einer der besten Konzertplätze in St. Petersburg stattfinden. Künstler, die 2006 auftreten werden sind: Jean-Louis Noton (Frankreich), Petri Makkonen (Finnland), Ensemble ‘Liritsa’ (Weiß-Russland), internationaler Wettbewerbsgewinner Yevgeny Kochetov und Alexander Shirunov (Russland), sowie andere Akkordeonisten.
Die australische Akkordeon-Lehrer-Verbindung (AATA) Inc. ist stolz, einen neuen Austragungsort für seine australischen internationalen Akkordeon-Meisterschaften und Festival verkünden zu können.
Das gesamte Event wird an der prestigevollen 'Club Marconi', einer der größten und luxuriösesten Vereins- und Konzerthallen Sydneys abgehalten.
Für 2007 hat das australische internationale Akkordeon-Meisterschafts- und Festivalevent neue internationale Kategorien hinzugefügt, die bereits starkes Interesse mit versprochenen Eintragungen aus Kroatien, Bosnien und von den deutschen Kandidaten bekommen.
Die Daten, 9. und 10. Juni, sind eine Woche nach den South Pacific Akkordeonmeisterschaften in Auckland, Neuseeland.
Für den internationalen Reisenden aus der Nordhalbkugel kostet es gewöhnlich nur wenig mehr, um an beiden, in Neuseeland und in Australien, teilzunehmen.
Das AATA Galakonzert, welches ein erwartetes Highlight des Events ist, wird im schönen “Club Marconi” Hauptauditorium, wo die besten australischen Akkordeonisten, Ensembles und Orchester sowie der Coupe Mondiale Piano Akkordeonmeister und andere internationale Gäste auftreten werden.
Laurent Jarry, Eigentümer von La Boite D'Accordéon in Montreuil empfing vor kurzem den regionalen Preis des Dynamique Artisanale `ARTINOV 2006'.
Dieser Preis ist eine Anerkennung des Talents, der Leistung und des Beitrags eines Handwerkers, der sein Talent anwendet. Im März 2006 ernannte die Arts Traders Association Laurent Jarry als Meisterhandwerker für das Akkordeon.
On September 15th, The Paraná Accordion Club organized a recital in the auditorium of the Asociación Médica, España y Tucumán. The concert featured leading Argentinean accordionist Ildo Patriarch, and Quique Sosa, from Buenos Aires.
Ildo Patriarch is considered one of the leading teachers and performers, and his repertoire covers an extensive variety of styles, that includes tango, traditional folk music and jazz. Quique Sosa participated in the international competition in Castelfidardo, Italy, and was also the winner of the national contest in Argentina in 2004.
The Paraná Accordion Club formed recently for the purpose of promoting the various styles of the instrument and is strongly supported by Raúl Barbosa and Ildo Patriarch. The activities of the group will extend to master classes and workshops, and the foundation of an orchestra is foreseen in the near future.
On September 17th the Allan William Jones Memorial Scholarships Function hosted by the Accordion Examination Board of NZ in honour of the late Secretary of the Board, was held at the Dove Memorial Theatre at Kristin School, Albany, compered by Marcel Riethmann. Certificates were given out to those that had passed examinations, culminating in Kristina Panzic and Travis Mc Walter receiving their Accordion Performers Diplomas (APDNZ). Scholarships were awarded to Abigail Wills, George Xu, Christopher Thwaites & Travis McWalter (picture above right). The Douglas Mews Rosebowl ‘for excellence” was given to Campbell Thwaites. The 2006 recipient of the Annual Merit Award was Lorraine Parnell (picture above left), honouring her for over 30 years of teaching, performing and supporting the accordion movement in New Zealand.

Accordionist Davide Bonetti performs solo concerts at cultural evenings Osteria del Rosmarino, Cattaneo 24 Brescia from September 22nd to 29th, and October 6th, all performances begin at 10 pm.
The annual Charity Accordion Concert, promoted by Ray Burgon, takes place on September 23rd takes place at St Mary’s Church, Bramall Lane, Sheffield. The concert, which begins at 7pm, features accordionists Rosemary Wright, George Syrett, Harry Hussey, the Petulengoes, Andrew and Rachel Hesselwood, David Tomlin, and the Sheffield Accordion Band.

Zum anschließenden Mittagessen und gemütlichen Beisammensein laden die Musiker ihre Familien, alle „Ehemaligen“ und interessierte Gäste herzlich ein.
Großgeschrieben wird die Jugendarbeit im Verein: So kann beim 20-jährigen Bestehen die mittler-weile 21-köpfige Nachwuchsgruppe einen großen Teil des Konzertprogramms mitgestalten! Mit einem interessanten Probenwochenende in der Jugendherberge Morsbach bereiteten sich die engagierten Akkordeonisten auf dieses Ereignis vor. Auf dem Altstadtfest in Freudenberg konnten die SpielerInnen am Sonntagnachmittag die erfolgreiche Probenarbeit mit einem gelungenen Auftritt unter Beweis stellen. Einen internen Wettbewerb für einen neuen Namen der Jugendgruppe entschied Annika Dietrich mit „AkkordeonKids Ferndorftal-Wilden“ für sich.
Mit Konzerten in Schulen und Werbeplakaten startet die Orchestergemeinschaft unter Vorsitz von Judith Geisweid und Katrin Koch zur Zeit eine Werbekampagne um neue Mitspieler zu gewinnen. Interessierte Klavier- oder Akkordeonspieler, Schlagzeuger oder Keyboarder können Schnupperproben montags abends je nach Spielpraxis im Haupt- oder Nachwuchsorchester mitmachen. Willkommen sind auch Zusatzinstrumente wie
E-Bass, Kontrabaß oder E-Gitarre; vereinseigene Baßinstrumente oder Elektronien stehen teilweise zur Verfügung. Für Anfänger oder „Wiedereinsteiger“ kann Akkordeonunterricht angeboten werden.

Universidad Pedagogica Accordion Ensemble Concert, Bogotà - Colombia
The concert fearuring the Accordion Ensemble of Universidad Pedagogica, conducted by Professor Làcides Romero, to be held in Centro Cultural of Universidad Pedagògica- Bogotà, takes place on September 28th, 6pm.
The performers are: Giovanni Parra, Augusto Salamanca, Salustiano Bueno, Rodrigo Romero and Jonathan Agudelo. The concert includes American music: 2 Negro Spirituals, (traditional), 4 Cuban dances, (Ignacio Cervantes), ‘Hacia Tì va mi Alma’ (Argentinean Waltz), ‘Libertango’ (Astor Piazzolla), ‘El Choclo’ (Angel Villoldo), and ‘La Cumparsita’ (Mattos Rodriguez).
The Beijing Children's Palace Bai Di Accordion Orchestra, with 30 musicians, will perform a ‘Grand Concert d'Accordeon’ on September 30th at 8.30pm in the City Hall Theater, La Bourboule. Free Entrance. This concert is organised in collaboration with Nathalie Boucheix from CNIMA in France.
Accordionist and vocalist Steve Albini will be appearing at the Madonna del Lume Celebration at Fisherman's Wharf in San Francisco on October 1st. The celebration was brought to San Francisco over sixty years ago by Sicilian immigrants, and the annual celebration concludes with the blessing of the fishing fleet.
On October 6th Steve will be performing solo at the Columbus Day Civic Celebration in San Rafael, California. This celebration is sponsored by the Cristofo Colombo Club of Marin.
On October 15th the Steve Albini Trio will be headlining the North Bay Italian Cultural Society’s Festa Italiana in Santa Rosa, California. The trio consists of Steve Albini on the Roland V-Accordion, the ‘Concerto’ digital/acoustic accordion, guitar and vocals, Dave Albini on MIDI and acoustic accordions and trumpet, and Jim Lehmann on drums and percussion.
Steve Albini and friends will be performing November 17th and 18th in Ciao Italia, a concert to benefit the Tomales High School Italian Exchange Program. The performances will take place at the Tomales Historical Center and Museum in Tomales, California.
After his participation at the Salon du Musique in Paris the ‘colorful’ and most entertaining French accordion artiste Jean-Louis Noton will also be present at the showroom of Cavagnolo during the Città di Castelfidardo, October 12th to 15th, where he as usual will be entertaining people passing through the tiny roads of the city.
