William Schimmel Auftritt beim Vintage Accordion Concerto, New York- USA
Contributed by Rob Howard

Accordion Festivals Weekend, Verona area - Italy
Information and photos contributed by Gary Blair

Scottish accordionist Gary Blair visited Italy over the weekend of June 23rd to 26th, in a trip organised by Cooperfisa Accordions to perform at two concerts in the Verona area. Due to his luggage and accordion not arriving from London, Gary had to use a borrowed instrument and to hastily buy some clothes!

The '15th Festa Nazionale Della Fisarmonica', (Gary & poster picture) was held in Erbrezzo the next day. The festival included a competition, (stage photo) and Gervasio Marcosignori was the President of the Jury, whose other members were Tiziano Chapelli, Vanio Testi, Cesare Tronel, and the Ukrainian accordionist Eugena Cercassova. Gary Blair and Marcosignori performed in the evening concert (pictured). Gary thought that "The whole festival was just superb with some amazing performances by students from as far away as Croatia".

The next day Gary Blair travelled to perform at a festival in San Benedetto Belbo, (Gary on stage) where he met his good friend Mauro Carra, whom he had first met at the London Accordion Festival in 2001. They both performed to a very very enthusiastic audience to finish an exciting and most enjoyable weekend.
