UMKC
Community Akkordeonorchesterkonzert in Missouri - USA

UMKC Community
Akkordeonorchester gibt hiermit ihr jährliches Frühlingskonzert
bekannt, daß am 12. Juni im UMKC campus der White Recital
Hall, 4949 Cherry Street, in Kansas City, Missouri um 14 Uhr stattfinden
wird. Der Eintritt zu diesem Konzert ist kostenfrei.
In diesem 1 ½ Stunden Konzert gibt es klassische Transkriptionen
von Polovetsian Tänze ‘Prince Igor’, von Borodin,
‘Abduction’ von ‘The Seraglio Overture’, Mozart,
‘Dornroschen Waltz’, von Tschaikowsky und ‘Granada’
von Lara. Weiters Melodien von Gerswhin, Andrew Lloyd Webber Broadway
Hits, Show Boat (Jerome Kern) und neue Versionen von “Jalousie”.
Eine originale AkkordeonOrchester Komposition „Toccata Diavolesca“
von Jonas Tamulionis, welche die großen Möglichkeiten
des Instrumentes darlegen. Karen Fremar ist in einer Solonummer
zu hören.
Weiters
spielen: Professor Emeritus, Joan
Cochran Sommers (mit Mitgliedern aus allen Altersgruppen) Blue
Springs, Independence, Smithville und Overland Park, die bereits
in Italien, Deutschland, Russland und Neuseeland aufgetreten sind.
Dieses
Konzert ist ein Vorab-Treffpunkt für das Accordionist &
Teachers Guild 2005 International Festival das in Dallas stattfindet.

Busso Jnr. Neuer United States Air Force Akkordeonist

Busso Junior,von Staten Island, New York wurde kürzlich als
Akkordeonist der United States Air Force Strolling Strings bestellt.
Seit circa 2 Jahren sucht die Band Strolling Strings Music Ensemble
Ersatz für ihre in Pension gegangenen Musiker und haben nun
nach langer Suche endlich die Person gefunden, nach der sie schon
so lange gesucht haben.
"Es ist äußerst schwierig die richtige Person für
diesen Job zu finden, aber es ist ein Superjob für die richtige
Person, sagt Chief Master Sgt. Jane Bockenek, Musikdirektor der
Strolling Strings’ und Violinistin der Gruppe
Obwohl
man versuchte Lehrer, Kollegen und Studios im ganzen Land diesbezüglich
zu kontaktieren, kam man zu keinem Entscheid und somit beschloß
die Air Force, sich direkt an die Akkordeonisten zu wenden und Sgt.
Bockenek besuchte persönlich das American
Accordionists' Association Festival in Boston und andere Auditionen
– jeweils ohne positivien Erfolg.
Anfang des Jahres war der richtige Moment für Frank Busso Junior
und die Air Force wusste auch, dass sie den Musiker, den sie schon
seit langem suchten, endlich gefunden haben. Sie fanden jemanden,
der in ihr musikalisches Kriterium passte und jemanden der den Parameters
der United States Air Force entsprach. Erste
Aufgabe von Frank war es, mit der 22köpfigen Gruppe im Weißen
Haus bei Saatsprärsentationen zu spielen, was mindestens ein
6-wöchiges Proben als Grundlage hat. Frank
jun. ist der Sohn von Frank Busso Senior, Besitzer der Staten Island
Musikschule in New York.

South Pacific Accordion Championships and Festival - New Zealand

The South Pacific Accordion Championships and Festival is the largest
annual accordion event in the Southern Hemisphere. This year, the
festival was at the newly built Raye Freedman Arts Centre at Epsom
Girls’ Grammar School, Auckland City. This is a wonderful
new Centre with first full lighting, excellent acoustics, soundproof
practice areas and food facilities making the event most enjoyable
for performers, audience and organisers.
 The
weekend began on Friday evening with a Wine and Cheese Reception,
followed by the Welcome Concert in the new venue. Guests were the
ASA New South Wales State Accordion Orchestra (Australia), conducted
by Elizabeth Jones. Alexander
Poeluev (Russia), one of the world’s most exciting young
accordion artistes, then performed and received a standing ovation
for a superb performance from the enthusiastic audience.
On Saturday and Sunday followed the competitions. A most successful
competition event was held and the competitions ended with the Results
and Prize-Giving Concert to a largely full hall. The finale of the
Festival was the Farewell Dinner on Sunday evening. The South Pacific
Accordion Championship trophies are presented, and the evening is
always a great party with lots of live music and dancing - great end
to the 2005 event.

the fifth time the city of Imst (located in Tyrol, near Innsbruck) will
organize workshops for musicians and artistes of different styles from July
11th to 15th. Participants will have the opportunity to combine some relaxing
days with artistic activity.
Accordionists Friedrich
Lips (from the Gnessin Academy of Music in Moscow) and Roman Pechmann
(Conservatory of Klagenfurt, Austria) will give solo lessons and teach chamber
music. Friedrich Lips will give also give a recital on Sunday, July 10th
in the City Museum of Imst.

Orosz on Television, Budapest – Hungary

Zoltán Orosz
will appear on the Hungarian TV channel Duna TV, on the 16th and 17th
of June. Duna TV can be viewed in many countries all over the world, including
the USA. The program is a broadcast of the Zoran concert that was recorded
in Hungary's biggest sports hall. Zoltan was the member of the accompanying
band and he also played a solo piece (Piazzolla's ‘Libertango’).
