Grand Prix für Duo Symphorine,
Moskau - Russland

 Das
Symphorine Duo (Yuri
Medianik und Jehanne Strepenne) wurden mit dem Grand Prix (Duo
Nomination) während des Open Europe Festival Wettbewerbes in
Moskau, ausgezeichnet. Der Wettbewerb wurde mit einem Galakonzert
festlich beendet, wo die Gewinner der verschiedenen Kategorien,
sowie das Duo in der Big Hall (Tchaikovsky Konzerthalle) des Moskauers
Staats Philharmonik teilnahmen.
Seit 2004 spielen die 2 Künstler in Duo und die besonderen
Fähigkeiten Yuris, sowohl als Bayan- und Violinekünstler
erlauben es den beiden, ein außergewöhnlich breites Repertoire
aufzuführen, das von Baroque bis zu namenlosen Stücken,
von unbekannten Komponisten für 2 Violinen komponiert, reicht.
Weiters ist zu bemerken, daß alle Transkriptionen von den
aufgeführten Werken, von den beiden Künstlern arrangiert
wird.
 Bis
dato ist das Duo in Belgien, Russland und Frankreich aufgetreten
(unter der Teilnahme der Accordion Association Arques) und hat bei
einer Ausstellungs-Eröffnungszeremonie, die von Mr. Francko,
Leiter des EU-Repräsentationsbüro in Moskau, organisiert
wurde, mitgewirkt.
Das Ziel des Open Europe Festival Wettbewerbes ist, für junge
Künstler die Möglichkeit zu schaffen, sich dem Publikum
zu stellen, neue Talente zu erforschen, lokaler Kultur und Kunst
von anderen Ländern näher zu kommen. Dieser Veranstaltung
wurde von Fernsehen und Presse große Beachtung geschenkt,
im speziellen von ORT, TVC, Kultura und Stolitza TV.

Daverne in Takapuna geehrt- Neuseeland

8. May hat die internationale Rotary Fondation Gary
Daverne, MD des Auckland Symphony Orchestras, als "PAUL HARRIS
FELLOW" geehrt. Diese Zeremonie fand während des Rotary
100-Jahre-Feier Konzertes im Bruce Mason Centre/Takapuna, mit dem
Auckland Sinfonieorchester, statt.
Diese Auzeichnung wurde dem in Takapuna geborenen und in Herne Bay
wohnhaften Gary Daverne für seine unermüdlichen und signifikanten
Leistungen zum allgemeinen besseren Dialog und weltweit freundlichen
Beziehungen, verliehen.
Der Rotary District Governor, Ken Linkhorn und Auckland Symphony Orchestra
Patron, John Eady übergaben diese Ehrung am Ende des Konzertes
vor großem Publikum, an einen sichtlich überraschten Gary.

mit folgenden Ehrungen ausgezeichnet: Queen's Birthday Honours 1996
- Neuseeland Meritauszeichnung (ONZM) 'Für besondere Leistungen
in der Musikwelt'; Variety Club's Scroll of Honour, November 2000,
'Für Sein Können und Beitrag die Orchestermusik einem breiten
Publikum nahe zu bringen, sowie seiner Professionalität.

Accordionist
Ken Astin aus Blackpool hat 2 neue CDs vorgestellt. 'Playing to Please'
eine Soloaufnahme mit einer großen Reihe von Standards, lateinamerikanischen
Musik, französischen Musette, eine Anzahl von Musicalmusik aus
"Oliver" und "Brittania" komponiert von Frosini.
Die CD, 'Our Kind of Music' ist eine Debut-Duo-Aufnahme mit Ken Astin
und Harry Hussey wo sie Jazz-Standards von bekannten Komponisten wie
Harold Arlen, Jimmy Van Heusen, George Gershwin und Neal Hefti präsentieren.
Auf beiden CD's sind einige Tracks mit Midi und einige mit akustischem
Akkordeon gespielt.

Bez Ime's Tanzparty und neue CD / Minneapolis - USA
Am
13. Mai um 20 Uhr spielt die hauptsächlich weibliche Balkan
Band Orkestar Bez Ime im Cedar Cultural Center, 416 Cedar Ave South,
Minneapolis, Minnesota für eine Tanzparty und wird bei dieser
Gelegenheit ihre neue CD 'Nice Driveway Vol. 1, Cheers from the
Land of the Freeze' vorstellen.
Das Orkestar Bez Ime (OBI = "Orchester ohne Name" auf
Bulgarisch) haben sich erstmals im Ethnic Tanz Theater getroffen
und haben sich inzwischen zu dem heißesten Tip der Tanzgruppen
von Mitte-West-Amerika hochgespielt und sich spezialisiert auf ´Tanzmusik
aus dem Balkan und Ost-Europa mit einem Mix an Folk- und modernen
Instrumenten wie das Akkordeon, Klarinette, Dumbek, Flöte,
Gitarre, Kaval, Tambura, Viloline und Gesang. Dee Langley ist die
Akkordeonspielerin der Gruppe. OBI sind fokalisiert auf Balkanmusik,
präsentieren aber auch internationale Musik die von Skandinavien
bis Israel, Frankreich, Kanada und mehr, reicht.

Italian Accordionists in Scotland - UK

accordionists Mirco Patarini (classic accordion) and Renzo
Ruggieri (accordion jazz) recently went to Scotland on a promotional
tour, demonstrating at hotels in Dumfries and Renfrew. Also involved
were accordionist Nicol McLaren, and the bothers Graham
and Brian Laurie, who were responsible for organising the events.

Monday May 16th there will be a concert in Duke's Hall at the Royal Academy
of Music, Marylebone Road, London, at 7.30pm. The performers include accordionists
Milos Milivojevic, Borut Zagoranski, Zivorad Nicolic and Marcin Krzyzanowski
and cellist Ashok Klouda. The program is to include solo and chamber works
by Piazzolla, Davor Bobic, J S Bach, Scarlatti, Mozart, Magnus Lindberg
and Jurgen Ganzer.

Wright, from Leicester, former Principal of the British College of Accordionists,
is the guest at Stockport Accordion Club, Edgeley Road, Cheadle Heath,
Stockport, on May 24th. Rosemary will perform a program of classical and
lighter music, and this wil be her first performance at Stockport AC.

Amongst the musicians involved is Casse Ponpon, a Jazz-musette band featuring
accordionist Sébastien 'Seb' Cardona. Another band performing is
Becs Bien Zen, from Lyon, who feature an accordionist. Music heard at
this festival includes Celtic, Slavonic and Jazz.
