Neuer Wettbewerb in Madrid - Spanien

 Der Musica Presente Wettbewerb für Interpreten von Musik aus dem 20. und 21. Jahrhunderts wird im Auditorium von Alcobendas, in der Provinz von Madrid vom 10. bis 17. Jänner 2006 stattfinden. Das Ziel deses Wettbewerbes ist, Musiker aus aller Welt mit Musik dieser 2 Jahrhunderten und Musik spanischer Komponisten, näher zu bringen.
Ablauf des Wettbewerbes: 3 Ausscheidungsrunden über 3 Tage, Halbfinale (2 Tage) und Endrunde/Finale. 6 Finalisten können in der Endrunde teilnehmen. Wettbewerbsleiter wird der Pianist Ananda Sikarlan sein (Foto), der auch in der Jury present ist. Juryvorsitzender ist der Cellist Rohan de Saram.

Solisten und Duett-Teilnehmer mussen nach dem 1. Jänner 1968 geboren sein. Für Ensembles, Gruppen darf das Alter von 37 Jahren nicht überschritten werden. Es gibt 3 Kategorien: Melodische Instrumente (woodwinds, brass und strings), Ensembles mit max. 6 Teilnehmern, Gitarre und Keyboardsinstrumente (Piano, Akkordeon und Percussion). Harpsichord, Vocal, Harfe, Ondes Martenot und Orgel sind in dem Wettbewerb nicht present. Für eine Teilnahme müssen von jedem Instrument mindestens 7 Minuten von Musica Presente Komponisten vorgetragen werden..
Die Preise sind :
Großer Preis: € 5.000 und 1 Konzert während der Festivals ENSEMS of Valencia, Miami Festival (Florida, USA), Monterrey (Mexico) und eine Hollandtour organisiert von der Gaudeamus Foundation of Holland
2. Preis: € 2.500
3. Preis: € 1.500
Sonderpries Musica Presente: € 2.000
Für Akkordeonisten stehen Arbeiten für Pianoakkordeon von David del Puerto, Polo Vallejo, Fabian Panisello und Javier Arias Bal zur Auswahl. Im Moment sind Jesus Rueda und David del Puerto damit beschäftigt neue Soloarbeiten für Angel Luis Castaño zu schreiben, die im Sommer diesen Jahres zur Verfügung stehen werden. Angel wird in diesem Wettbewerb die Sektion "Akkordeon" leiten.

Concerts of International Accordion Music, Wroclaw - Poland

Three very successful concerts were recently given by students and teachers of the Wroclaw School of Music. The first concert, on April 15th, was a program of Tango, Waltz, Jazz sounds and rhythms by the following composers: George Gershwin, A. Rodriguez, F. Flai, and Kurt Weill.
The concert performers were teachers and students of the school as well as the accordion orchestra 'Harmonica', conductor - Galyna Kryval. On April 17th, the second concert was given by Olexiy Suslov. The concert gave an opportunity to present a new CD featuring Hungarian and Gypsy dances by J. Brahms, J. Strauss, P. Sarasate as well as some popular melodies.
The third concert, on April 19th, was a performance of French music by Olexiy Suslov, and held in the Café de France. The concerts were frequented by such honorable guests as the President of Lower Silesia, Mr. Wróblewski, who greatly appreciated the performance of the participating artistes and even suggested organizing an international contest of accordion music in Wroclaw.

Isle of Skye Accordion and Fiddle Festival, Scotland - UK

 The Isle of Skye Accordion and Fiddle Festival takes place from May 26th to 28th. Events include an Isle of Skye Accordion & Fiddle Club Night on May 26th at the Well Plaid, Royal Hotel, Portree with All Scotland Champion Tom Orr (pictured) plus local and visiting players.
On May 27th there will be live music sessions in the Royal Hotel, Tongadale Hotel and Bosville Hotel during the day from 3pm, and an evening Ceilidh Dance, at 9pm, in the Skye Gathering Hall, Portree with The Ballochmyle Ceilidh Band.
On the morning of the May 28th, accordion and fiddle workshops will be held in the Skye Gathering Hall for anyone who wishes to participate. The tutor for accordion is Charlie MacLeod, and for fiddle is Cairena Campbell. As the number of available places is limited, they will be allocated on a first come first served basis. Players of all standards, are welcome - from beginner to advanced.
The afternoon of May 28th features the launch of 'Deoch & Doris' CD in the Ceilidh Room, Hotel, Portree, in association with Skipinnish Records - free entry. The festival ends with an evening of entertainment in Well Plaid, Royal Hotel, Portree, with Alasdair MacCuish & the Black Rose Ceilidh Band.

Der bulgarische Akkordeonist Stanislav Anguelov gibt am 29. April in Oliwenhuis in Bloemfont ein Concerto in A, von Pietro Deiro, wo er von dem Free State Symphony Orchestra unter der Leitung von Chris Dowdeswell begleitet wird.
The accordion retail and repair business 'Accordeons Joel Louveau' is currently celebrating its twentieth anniversary. Situated at 3 rue des Chaumes, 71520 Matour, 'Accordeons Joel Louveau' specialises in free bass, standard bass and MIDI accordions. The business also stocks large quantities of sheet music, books and CDs.
Jump n' Jam' is an dance improvisation festival in the Italian town of Brescia, scheduled for the afternoon and evening of May 8th, beginning at 2.30pm. This is a follow up of the two-day event held in February, and again involves accordionist Davide Bonetti.
